If you are taking the car, the Eurotunnel is the quickest way to cross the Channel, from Folkestone to Calais
in just 35 minutes. Overnight tickets start at £44 return. For longer stays, Standard single tickets are from £49 single. All fares are per car, including all luggage.

L D Lines Ferries travel between Dover and Boulogne in around 1 hr 45 minutes. There are up to 6 crossings per day and prices start at £24 per car for a single. The best fares can be found through our comparison booking form above.
L D Lines Ferries also operate the Newhaven to Dieppe and Portsmouth to Le Havre routes. Le Havre is in Normandy, and about 200km north of Paris. The ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Le Havre takes around 5 hours 30 minutes. Dieppe is further north east along the French coast, but is well placed for routes to Paris and close to Amiens. Ferry crossings from Newhaven to Dieppe take around 4 hours.
The cheapest fares for Dover to Boulogne start at £24 per car for a single journey. These fares can only be found if you book ahead and travel at off peak times.
